With the start of Spring Semester, and an unexpected two month hiatus from the blog, we’re back in action and ready to introduce you to the rest of the ASA executive committee! Sioux Falls native Krista Youngberg, the ASA Vice President, is a senior Sports Management and Business Administration major with a minor in Philosophy. In addition to her Vice Presidential duties, Krista is a Peer Advisor, works in the admissions office, is part of the Ultimate Frisbee team, and is involved in other intramural sports. A fun fact, Krista has at least 100 Augustana t-shirts! Krista is a dedicated and involved member of the Augustana community. Here are some of her thoughts. Oh, and we now challenge you to beat Krista’s record amount of shirts and school pride…
Why did you decide to become part of ASA?
Krista: I chose to become a part of ASA because I wanted to work with my peers and make Augustana like always and the Augustana like never before!
What have you been doing to better Augustana’s community this past semester?
Krista: Matt and I have been working to get additional study spots around campus like in the Chicago and Canton rooms. We have also been working on developing a mobile application for students to use on and off campus.
What can students do to make sure their voices are heard on campus?
Krista: Everyone should know that if they have a suggestion about what they want to see on campus they should share their opinion. ASA exists to have the voices of the students heard. Please talk to any ASA senator or comment on our Facebook or Twitter pages.
What is your favorite meal at Augie?
Krista: My favorite meal at Augustana is, of course, Augie Bowl!
What is your favorite memory here?
Krista: My favorite memory at Augustana was the night of semester shutdown where we played glow-in-the-dark bocce ball across campus.
Where is the best place to study on campus?
Krista: The best place to study on campus is in the library: main floor, second table from the back on the left!
If you had a superpower, what would it be?
Krista: If I had a superpower it would probably be teleportation.
We hope you enjoyed getting to know Krista a bit more. Stay tuned for more posts!
